Hi, I’m Mike.
Over the last 15 years of teaching, I’ve had the pleasure of helping drummers of all kinds - from first-time players to seasoned pros. Whatever your level, my goal is the same - to simplify learning by cutting out unnecessary clutter. A big part of that is ditching sheet music and exercise books to so we can focus on practical, real-world skills instead. |

Stage 1 - Master The Basics
Beats and fills are the core of playing drums. We’ll master the 10 core beats and fills that will allow you to play along with most any song by ear, and move around the kit to show off. Stage 2 - Learn Your Favourite Songs
Just like learning a language, the fastest way to get fluent is by immersing yourself. We’ll learn your favourite songs, going into deeper and deeper detail as you progress. Stage 3 - Film Videos or Take Grades
Filming videos is a great way to track your progress - it’s cool to have something to look back on too. If you like, we can also take grades at this stage (100% pass rate - totally optional). Stage 4 - Master Technical Skills
From building smooth efficient technique, to learning how to flow round the kit - we’ll focus on the technical skills that make the best players stand out. Stage 5 - Get Advice & Guidance
Get help in any area you like - from technique, to building working musician skills, to music university auditions and beyond. |
